How I travel light
One of the main reasons I turned to iPhone Photography was because I love to travel light.

Because I use an iPhone for taking, managing, and editing photos, I don’t need multiple pieces of luggage anymore: A simple backpack is enough, and I don’t need a camera bag anymore.
On this page, you’ll find an overview of the packing gear and travel accessories I use to travel light.

Packing & Carrying
For traveling light I rely on these bags. The Osprey Farpoint 40 is a carry-on compliant travel backpack that enables me to carry everything I need for trips of up to 5 days. I use the Gonex foldable backpack as an on-site day pack so I don’t have to carry the Osprey around. For the stuff I need to have at hand, I usually wear the ScotteVest Travel Vest that has many pockets for all the stuff and gear.

Travel Accessories
I’ve tried most of the journaling and note taking, and logging apps for iPhone on the market. They’re great - just not for me. So I turned to good old pen and paper for everyday note taking and trip journaling.

Wuben X1 Falcon
The Wuben X1 is a powerful, 12000 lumens, tactical flashlight and my new companion when exploring lost and abandoned places. It illuminates even the darkest corners.

Fisher Space Pen
A perfect pen for everyday carry. It’s small but when you put the cap on the back, it’s a full size pen. Because of a pressurized refill, it writes even in the toughest environments.

Field Notes
Field Notes Notebooks are a perfect analogue travel companion. They’re the size of a shirt pocket and afordable. Here's a review and how I use them for traveling.
